ABOUT ME

I am a student of the University of New Haven's Instructional Technology and Digital Media Literacy Sixth Year Education Program. In the program, I have studied concepts and issues relevant to instructional technology and learning.  Among topics I've learned are the use of social media in learning, getting students to deeper learning, and the use of technology in assessing learning.  I have been able to explore areas of personal and professional interest, and I have been able to discuss and share thoughts about the use of instructional technology  with my program colleagues.  As a result, I have created a personal learning network that includes other professionals  interested in digital media literacy and instructional technology.  I feel these experiences have made me a better teacher.

Currently, I am the Library Media Specialist at Washington Middle School in Meriden, CT.  I am committed to preparing students with the skills and knowledge they will need to be information literate and to become lifelong learners. Along with collaborating and supporting students, staff, and the administration of my school, I am the advisor to the school's television production program. The program offers students an authentic learning opportunity. Students produce a 5 minute daily news broadcast that is aired to the student body and is also posted on the  school's website. Please continue reading my portfolio to learn about instructional technology and digital media literacy.
